| "Grand Theft" Some things die at sunset; a day, a romance, a life. Something that woke in the morning with a vibrant promise of hopeful expectation has ended. What was it I felt the need to achieve, and couldn't? Where did the hours, the days, the years go that I needed to accomplish. The feats I once felt so important. Time rushes past me, laughing as he goes, mocking, sneering for the irretrievable seconds snatched from me when I was caught unaware He knows I cannot get them back or make amends for those millions I must have misused He knows there is only "next time" to try and make better use of the minutes that I had. He will be there then as well; standing guard, watching, waiting, grabbing at every millisecond that goes astray and reminding, reminding, reminding... Time belongs to no man. AUTHOR UNKNOWN |
