Fremont Rescue Squad and EMS Inc. is a non-profit volunteer Emergency Medical and
Rescue Service organization established in 1964 to provide emergency medical and
rescue services to the citizens of northern Wayne County N.C.  
For 39 years Fremont Rescue Squad and EMS Inc. provided primary and mutual aid
response for rescue and emergency medical calls in Northern Wayne County and the
state of North Carolina as a member of the N.C. Statewide emergency response team.
In March of 2003 Wayne County Government implemented a paid EMS service operating
as Wayne County EMS.  Fremont Rescue Squad and EMS Inc. and its volunteers were
encompassed into the new system. Fremont Rescue Squad and EMS Inc. now operates
as a support unit to Wayne County EMS, in the provision of second duty EMS and mutual
aid response.   
In January of 2005,  Fremont Rescue Squad & EMS in support of the nations Homeland
Security  Readiness Efforts, revised its mission to include response to
Natural Disasters and Mass Casualty Incidents.

MISSION STATEMENT
The members of the Fremont Rescue Squad and EMS Inc. are committed to:

Providing professional emergency care and services to the citizens of Wayne County and
the State of North Carolina

Promoting and educating public safety and emergency response awareness

Educating young people in emergency care and health services vocations

Promoting volunteer service to our fellow citizens

Continuing with the hard work and dedication of our Charter members who founded the
organization so that the citizens of Wayne County are cared for in the
event of a natural disaster, mass casualty incident, or any other emergency situation
